Kluang

The State of Johor lies at the southern end of Peninsular Malaysia, known as "The Southern Gateway to Malaysia", surrounded by Selat Melaka (Straits of Malacca) on the west coast, with Laut China Selatan (South China Sea) on the east coast. Selat Johor or the Straits of Johor separating this state from Singapore. Johor has eight districts, including Kluang.

Kluang district is located in the middle of the state of Johor in Malaysia.It geographically located at 110km north from Johor Bahru, east-southeast of Batu Pahat, west of Mersing and south of Segamat. This district is the only district that does not have a sea front, as it was surrounded by all other districts namely, Johor Bahru, Pontian, Batu Pahat, Segamat, Mersing and Kota Tinggi, except Muar district.

Gunung Lambak Recreational Forest
Gunung Lambak is located 5km from the town of Kluang. At 510m above sea level, it is an easy climb for visitors using the trails of footpaths and wooden bridges. This mountain has been the central point of local residents for a variety of recreation activities such as picnicking, camping, relaxing and exercising. Trekking up its summit is relaxing and rejuvenating.

Facilities here include car parks, rest sheds, benches, toilets and camping sites. There is waterfall for a refreshing dip, apart from the diversity of wild flora and fauna to appreciate. Scenes of its waterfall cascading into streams of rapids and pools are simply enchanting amidst retreats of pleasure and adventure.

Getting there
By road From the North-South Expressway, the turn-off point is 25km after Ayer Keroh. Head towards Tangkak. Proceed along the pastoral Route 23 for another 6km, past Sagil town, before turning left onto a road in a rubber plantation and proceed another 1km. From here, the route to the foot of Gunung Ledang should be visible.

By Bus Take bus 170 to the Johor Bahru then get a ticket from S & S International Express, fare: 6.40 ringgit. Kluang bus terminus is located in the center of the business district and adjacent to only one river. Bus stops are near the maximum of the town of Kluang Architecture: PRIME CITY HOTEL, has approximately 15 floors or so, if lost in the town, then follow signs to it, as long as it has been going towards the end sure to find the bus terminal. then take a bus 129 to Kluang Basha South Mountain: 0.60 ringgit, which will bring you to the foot of the hill.

Tasik Mardi Recreation Park
Spreading over 500 acres of green lung, this recreational park has one beautiful lake and basic overnight facilities that are simply ideal for group training, activities or recreation.

This is an organic agriculture park located at Batu 9, Jalan Batu Pahat, along the road to Air Hitam. It is an organic vegetables farm and dragon fruit plantation farm. This 100-acre organic park allows visitors to experience organic farming while walk under the 700m long Atap corridor and the 600m long rain-sheltered walkway or rent a bicycle to cycling around the park. Several recreation activities are provided here such as cycling, fish feeding or fish catching and also BBQ. Visitors also can enjoy organic dishes like Zenxin Organic Steambot, Organic Dragon Fruit Juice and Dragon Fruit flower Soup at Park Restaurant which is Halal for Muslim visitors.

Zenxin Organic Park also offers a “one top organic shopping” with its Zenxin Organic Farm Mart. The shop offers a wide variety of fresh Zenxin organically-grown produce, dry foods and other health foods at very reasonable prices.

Kahang Organic Rice Eco Farm
The first and only Certified Organic Rice Farm in Johor, Malaysia located at Km 43, Jalan Kluang-Mersing, Kahang in Kluang. This farm provides free and easy farm-stay at their Koref Eco Farm Resort. It is uniquely a back to nature health enhancing organic lifestyle farm, with life enrichment programs namely, mountain or jungle trekking, star gazing at night, bamboo rafting and water obstacle course, cycling and fishing.

Padang Hijau
Padang Hijau is a dairy farm spreading over 5000 acres, located at the 11th milestone, Jalan Kluang-Mersing. It is just 25 minutes' drive by car from Kluang town. Along the way to this farm, visitors can enjoy a beautiful landscape of tea plantation, oil palm estates and Malay villages. Padang Hijau topography of undulating hills, lakes and fish ponds which are surrounded by green tropical forests, offers a great outing to visitors and tourist who adore and love peace, tranquility and the wonders of nature.

This farm provides a variety of attractions and activities for visitors. Some of attractions available are dairy farming, hills, lakes, fish ponds, tropical forest, and the animal park. For activities, there are horseback riding, fishing, camping and water spots like canoeing, rowing and paddling.

Padang Hijau has facilities for camping to those interested in staying the night. The camping areas can accommodate between 100 - 200 persons at any one time. It also has a surau (mosque) and several public toilets. Campers also can rent facilities like tent, gas stove, gas lamp and hurricane lamp.

There is one look-out point or tower where visitors can admire the beauty of the surrounding area. This look-out point also covers the Selembu grazing area. The farm is the home of this unique species of cattle called Selembu, which the name "Selembu" is coined from two words- 'Seladang' (wild buffalo) and 'Lembu' (cow).

Kampung Sri Timor
Kampung Sri Timor is a traditional Malay village about 25 kilometres from Kluang town, next to the Gunung Belumut Recreational Forest. The majority of the residents here is farmers who managing fruit orchards like durians, jackfruit and rambutans, orchid planting project, coffee processing, and paddy plantation.

This village, which is also a dairy farm, is one-stop recreational spot open to the public for a real back-to-nature experience. Experience the thrill of horse back riding, canoeing, boating and fishing. Other activities include: Animal Farming, Veterinary Museum, Equine, Water Sports, BBQ and Farm Stay.

Kampung Sri Lukut
Kampung Sri Lukut is an agro-tourism destination located near Sungai Madek forest reserve. A visit to this village is a true “kampong” experience.

There are fruit orchards and paddy fields, about 295 acres, to visit. Several Orang Asli settlements can be found in this area. A visit to these settlements is just like visiting to another dimension in one's experience.
